Mihai Chițu


 Mihai Chițu (b. 1979, Curtea de Argeș, Romania) is a Romanian visual artist working primarily in sculpture, whose practice explores the relationship between object, material, and contemporary urban experience. He studied at the National University of Arts Bucharest, Faculty of Decorative Arts and Design, specializing in metal, and is a member of the Union of Visual Artists of Romania. 
His work operates within a hybrid territory between sculpture, object, and installation, often employing metal and industrial materials to create compact, playful, and sometimes mechanically suggestive forms. These constructions frequently carry a ludic and critical dimension, where everyday objects are transformed into symbolic structures that reflect on consumer culture, urban pressure, and the tensions of contemporary life. Chițu’s artistic language combines elements of assemblage, pop sensibility, and conceptual humor, treating sculpture as an experimental field in which function, form, and meaning are continuously renegotiated.
