Hunter Drohojowska-Philp
Hunter Drohojowska-Philp — Not a curator either. She is a formalist critic of the California school — O'Keeffe, Craig Kauffman, Ruscha, Bell, Irwin, the entire Light and Space and Finish Fetish tradition — and she was honored by the International Association of Art Critics to deliver what they called "the Clement Greenberg lecture." That fact alone distinguishes her from most of this list. She would be a superb essayist or critical advisor for a painting exhibition, but she would not curate one.
