Bill Rabinovitch

Bill Rabinovitch (b. 1936, New London, CT) has lived and worked in SoHo since 1973. Painter and filmmaker, Bill Rabinovitch has spent over five decades sustaining a paradoxical position as an art world fixture who has encountered nearly everyone while deliberately sidestepping its commercial gravity.

He works through an unbroken cycle of creation, pursuing and rendering inner visions through figurative–abstract paintings layered with acrylic, resin, and luminous interference, alongside digitally driven images that pulse with energy and complexity.
Emerging from the intensity of New York’s urban field, his work transforms everything that passes through his life—ideas, encounters, resources—into dense, multidimensional compositions that are at once playful and serious, sensuous and technological, producing an oeuvre that dazzles, unsettles, and remains insistently his own.
