Anna Zorina

-NYC

Zorina is originally from Minsk, Belarus, studied foreign affairs at the Belarusian State University, and came to the US in 2008. She worked at Dillon Gallery and then Mary Boone Gallery, becoming Associate Director before opening her own space in 2013. Hayamaresidency

The gallery is female-run, positioned around the idea of "the powerful positive image," and represents emerging and established artists who allow intuition and intelligence to coexist — artists who engage with the world through constructive aesthetic, cultural, and personal responses rather than critical negation. Notable exhibitions have included figurative painters like Katherine Bradford, Paul Housley, and Tim Stoner, as well as a Bernard Perlin retrospective and immersive work by Azikiwe Mohammed. Annazorinagallery

The Eastern European background is genuinely interesting — there's a natural sympathetic channel there that doesn't exist with most Chelsea galleries. But the gallery's programmatic language ("powerful positive image," constructive over critical) sits somewhat at odds with Palazzo Vimana's conceptual register. They're not a theory-forward space.
